Thank You for Supporting the PTA Winter Carnival
Thank you to all the families who came to support the Brookfield PTA and their amazing Winter Carnival.
Our PTA did such amazing work making the Winter Carnival a success! On the day of the event we had over fifty volunteers, including a fair number of middle and high school students. We are so proud of our former Broncos for coming to make the day an amazing success.
The Yearbook Committee is looking for photos to include in the yearbook. We would also use the pictures on Facebook. If you have a wonderful photo you would like to share, please use this link to share it with us!

Sixth Grade Sharing Their Writing with First Graders
Here are a few pictures of sixth graders sharing their literary non-fiction writing. They were practicing the Portrait of a Graduate attribute of being an Ethical and Global Citizen where they needed to take the perspective of first-grade students as their target audience. The first graders loved learning from the older students.
 
Keep Your Child Warm During Outdoor Activities
We will monitor the weather for low temperatures, wind chill advisories and warnings, and weather advisories which may prevent children from being outside. Make sure your child is dressed appropriately with a warm coat and other cold-weather clothing, so they can comfortably enjoy their time outdoors. See the National Weather Service’s tips on staying safe during cold weather.

Preparing for Winter Weather
Winter weather will be here before you know it! Watch this video to see how weather-related closing decisions are made.
FCPS’ inclement weather procedures will remain the same as last year. The first five inclement weather days will be traditional “snow days” with no school activities. After those five days, we will use the flexibility provided by the Virginia General Assembly to have unscheduled virtual learning days, whenever possible, to maintain the continuity of learning. Virtual learning on these days will be synchronous/live instruction, following the inclement weather virtual learning day schedule (includes a two-hour delay).
FCPS’ website is generally the first mode of communication during emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible including email, text, social media, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated.
Advanced Academics Full Time Level IV Application Deadline
Just a reminder that all Full Time Level IV Advanced Academic Referrals are due no later than December 15. Referral forms can be assessed via the following link:
