Bruins On Track: Varsity Meet at Episcopal High School
On the boys side Tim Ryan and Kai Bolme came in second for the pole vault and shot put, respectively, with Eric Voeghtlin supporting on vault and Tyler Bradecamp supporting the teams’ effort on throws.
Milers consisting of Nelson Lattimer, Jaren Chapman, and Meba Henook went 1, 2, and 3 respectively and Thomas Dawson rounded out the group with a strong supporting finish.
Bruin two milers: Bobby Leone, Christian Bachmann, Tyler Kimble and Trey Riley brought out the broom going 1, 2, 3, 4 respectively for a full Bruins sweep.
Danny Duhan and Dallin Chapman ran impressively and competitively in their first 500 ever, while Timothy Asady-Kany took third in the 1000 meter run followed closely by Kevin Dermody.
James Bowman also competed against a tough field in the high jump.
On the girls side, our milers Madi Lewis and Maddie Hood led a fierce Bruins effort in the mile, followed by first timers Kylee Hugart and Sierra Berkley in the 500 meter dash, both winning their heats.
Tori Junius took home gold in the triple jump, and Seniors Sarina Khania and Julia Schnieder battled some of the Region’s best jumpers in the triple jump. Newcomer Maya Daniels led the Lady Bruins effort in the pole vault, while throwers Maya Cachun and Lauren Limo held their ground in the shot put.
Our fierce pack of 1000 meter runners was led by Becca Duhan with an impressive final kick of the day, landing her in third place.
She was followed by Maya Gilbert and next by Mikal Berhe who took the chance, turned on the jets and won the second heat.
The Lady Bruins ended the meet with an impressive first-time 2 mile performance by Grace Whitehouse who finished third, and Claire Aponte who supported her with a fourth place finish.
A huge thank you to the entire team for all of their hard work this past week, and to all of the parents who came out to cheer, help time, and support managing the events. Also a huge thank you to our awesome assistant coaches who are keeping all the different “rooms” in the House of
Bruin strong and in order.

Calling all Sneakerheads!!! Got Sneakers?? We Need them! Join in supporting the Lake Braddock Track Team by donating your old sneakers for recycling! We have partnered with a non-profit called Got Sneakers, to collect used sneakers and make a global impact. Did you know at least 200 million sneakers find their way into US landfills every year? Let's make a difference together and clean out those closets to make room for new kicks!
To help, please place your sneakers (we are not accepting shoes or sandals only sneakers) for donation in a bag and drop them off in the box in the Student Activities Office. Write your name on the list of donors with the number of pairs of sneakers you dropped off and you will be entered to win a prize!

Every LBABC member gets a Booster Pass that can be used for admission to all Lake Braddock REGULAR SEASON HOME GAMES, for all VHSL sports, throughout the school year. Senior athletes who are LBABC members are eligible to apply for one of the LBABC scholarships in the spring.
