Kilmer Center School Tiger Tales

Spotlight on Morning Meeting
Each morning, all students and teachers at Kilmer Center School gather together and interact with one another through a greeting and other fun activities. Morning Meeting is one tool we use to promote Social Emotional Learning and is an engaging way to start each day. It also builds a strong sense of community and sets students up for success socially and academically.

Turning 18 in Virginia: What Individuals with Disabilities Need to Consider
December 9th | 10:00 am
Turning 18 is a big deal. An 18-year-old is legally considered an adult in Virginia and can make legal, financial, medical, and educational decisions in their life. For some individuals with disabilities, this will not be an issue. Others may need support. This workshop will share basic information about things that need to be considered as your loved one turns 18. Presented in collaboration with The Arc of Greater Prince William. Find out more and register for this event on the PEATC website.

National Special Education Day
National Special Education Day is recognized each year on Dec. 2 and commemorates President Gerald Ford’s signing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in 1975. We celebrate our teachers and staff who serve and support our students with special needs!
