From the Principal's Desk:

We are excited to welcome students back this week after a wonderful break! Now, we have two more weeks until the winter break arrives. During this time, our teachers will maintain a focus on academics and continuing to build a strong classroom community. In addition to our electronic school newsletter, you should receive a monthly classroom newsletter from your child's teacher, highlighting the curriculum and any upcoming events in the classroom. We hope this continues to provide you a window into the instruction that is occurring in school. If you have specific questions regarding your child or what is happening in the class, I encourage you to reach out to the teacher. We want to maintain strong communication with our families so you are informed and able to support your child at home, reinforcing what is being learned at school. Our partnership with you is important!

In the remaining days of this year, we hope you take time to reflect on the joyful moments you've had and the goals and expectations for the upcoming year!

Level IV (full time) Advanced Academic Program (AAP) Referrals

A referral is needed for a student to be screened for full time Level IV AAP.  The Level IV Advanced Academics Parent Referral for students in grade 2-6 is due December 15, 2022.  The referral form and optional materials are to be submitted to Tara Harvan, the advanced academics resource teacher at Louise Archer.  Submissions are made via email to tsharvan@fcps.edu.  Forms and further information can be found on the AAP website.

All decisions regarding full-time placement in Level IV are made through a central screening committee of educators from across FCPS.

PLEASE NOTE:   No exceptions to the referral deadline are made.

Every session is personalized to meet the needs of the student from remedial to advanced levels. Sessions focus on conceptual learning and critical thinking—not quick answers.
