New Assistant Principal

We are excited to announce Ms. Janelle Alabi as our new assistant principal.  Ms. Alabi is currently a 4th grade teacher at Greenbriar West ES.  She has been a teacher leader at Greenbriar West serving as team lead, equity lead, summer program site director, and ESSER wellness lead.  She also has experience teaching Kindergarten, first grade, and fourth grade at London Towne ES.  Ms. Alabi will start with us on Monday, December 12th and we look forward to her joining our school community!

A message from Ms. Alabi:

My name is Ms. Janelle Alabi. I am truly honored and grateful to accept the position as your new assistant principal at Daniels Run Elementary School.  I look forward to partnering with you to continue the amazing work that is already taking place at Daniels Run. I’m eager to meet all students, faculty, staff, families and community stakeholders. I cannot emphasize enough how thrilled I am to be joining the Daniels Run Elementary School community because of the diversity of the school population, your positive school culture, and your relationships with the surrounding community. I will enthusiastically support faculty, staff, and parents to ensure the academic and social/emotional growth of all our Daniels Run students.

I am a proud product of Fairfax County Public Schools.  I grew up in Chantilly, VA and graduated from Chantilly High School.  After receiving my bachelor’s degree from The College of William and Mary and my Masters of Education from Marymount University, I began my teaching career at London Towne Elementary school. I later transferred to Greenbriar West Elementary school.  I received a Master’s in Educational Leadership from George Mason University.

In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my two boys. My oldest is a fourth grader and my youngest is a first grader.  Attending their soccer games keeps me busy.  I also enjoy brunching with friends, attending live shows, concerts and performances.

Sincerely,

Chris Smith
