 #TeacherLove from the PTA

Thanks to our PTA for showing us some #teacherlove!  We would like to thank Andrea Hager and the PTA board for ALL that they do to support us! The hot cider and pumpkin bread was yummy!  We truly appreciate the treats and love!!

Supporting Your Child with Reading at Home - Digitally

FCPS provides access to a variety of digital resources to support your child’s reading. All of these resources can be accessed from any device connected to the internet or by using data. Many resources provide access to online books across all reading levels.

Lexia provides instruction at your child’s reading level.  If your child is using Lexia outside of school, the best way to support their learning is to allow them to work through the program independently.

Below is the log in information for each resource:

Please reach out to your child’s teacher or our SBTS, Eva Townsend, ectownsend@fcps.edu, if your child needs support logging into any of these resources.

Tutor.com ~ Still Available for Use

Students who have used Tutor.com have provided positive feedback. Unless they’ve been opted out, students can access Tutor.com through Schoology. Every session is personalized to meet the needs of the student from remedial to advanced levels. Sessions focus on conceptual learning and critical thinking—not quick answers. Learn more at FCPS’ Tutor.com webpage

PTA Updates

ONE & DONE!

Help us meet our goal of raising $45,000 for our One & Done Fundraising Campaign.  Upon reaching our goal, there will be a school-wide celebration (check out the picture below of past celebration events that the kids loved!)

One a Done is our primary fundraising tool at Kent Gardens and your support is greatly appreciated - every dollar counts!  Funds collected will be used towards school-focused needs and membership-approved annual budget line items and may be applied to special projects.

Through the generosity of our families last year, we gifted each one of our teachers with a check that will help fulfill classroom wish-lists and supply needs.  Furthermore, in 2021 we supported our teachers with luncheons and events, purchased tents to be used for outdoor activities such as Field Day, purchased “Library Book Return” carts for each classroom, and donated funds to be used toward updating each water fountain into a water bottle filling station.  Please note, our relationship is a partnership with FCPS and all school-related changes and modifications are subject to FCPS policies, procedures and timelines.

THANK YOU to the families who have contributed so far!  Thank you for your generosity and support!  Let's work together to achieve a great year filled with learning new things, working together, and having a lot of fun!  #KGPride  #StrongerTogether

The suggested contribution is $150 per family but any amount is greatly appreciated. You can make your payment online and we will provide you with a tax receipt for your tax-deductible donation. Don’t forget to check if your employer matches your charitable donation!
