We hosted wonderful concerts to highlight our chorus, band, and strings students this past week. We have such talented musicians!
From the Principal's Desk:
We made it to the end of 2022! We want to thank this amazing community for your perseverance, kindness, and support of our students, families, and staff at Louise Archer. It has been a year like no other, and we continue to stand together and support one another. It was a beautiful sight this week as many of our families were provided warm winter clothing, food, and holiday gifts for their families. A huge thank you to our own families and our extended Madison pyramid community for their donations. As we enter 2023, we will continue to lead by example through #ONEkindactVienna as we find ways to support others and build strong relationships with one another in the greater Vienna community!
We want to wish you and your family a wonderful winter break! Students should not have any work assigned during this time so everyone can take a much needed break from school projects and homework. Of course, everyone can always read for pleasure while at home! We hope you find ways to take time to relax and make new memories with your family over the next two weeks. We look forward to seeing everyone back in the new year and we are excited to start 2023 together!

Louise Archer Office Closed
The front office will be closed from December 19th - January 2nd. Students and staff will return on January 3, 2023.
Preparing for Winter Weather
Winter weather will be here before you know it! Watch this video to see how weather-related closing decisions are made.
FCPS’ inclement weather procedures will remain the same as last year. The first five inclement weather days will be traditional “snow days” with no school activities. After those five days, we will use the flexibility provided by the Virginia General Assembly to have unscheduled virtual learning days, whenever possible, to maintain the continuity of learning. Virtual learning on these days will be synchronous/live instruction, following the inclement weather virtual learning day schedule (includes a two-hour delay).
FCPS’ website is generally the first mode of communication during emergency weather closings. Other communication channels will be used as quickly as possible including email, text, social media, and news stations. Learn more about how schedule changes are communicated
2-Hour Delayed Opening Procedures
If there is a two-hour delayed school opening, students can begin to come into the building starting at 11am. The late bell rings at 11:15am. We do not have supervision prior to 11am, so you may not drop off your child before this time, as they will be unattended. Please consider your options for this situation in advance, as we may encounter this during the winter months.
COVID Diagnostic Testing in January
Mark your calendars! COVID diagnostic testing will be available for FCPS teachers, staff, and students at five locations across the county January 3-5 from 5 to 8 p.m. This testing is for those who are either experiencing COVID symptoms or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID. Appointments are not required, but registration must be completed before testing. Visit the COVID Testing webpage for more information.
