The Minority Student Achievement Oversight Committee (MSAOC) has created a Parent Advocacy Handbook to provide information and support to families as they navigate the FCPS system for their children. It is designed to be particularly useful for families who may be less familiar with such a large school division and/or with schooling in the U.S. Here is the link to access the Parent Advocacy Handbook:

 As part of the Westfield HS Pyramid, McNair Upper ES is committed to promoting kindness, empathy, and inclusion. We will celebrate Kindness Week in February and we invite all students and staff to wear their “We Choose Kindness” shirts signifying a personal commitment to choosing kindness. We are offering short-sleeve shirts and hooded sweatshirts in black with white and pink ink. Why pink? The color is based on an anti-bullying campaign started by Travis Price and David Shepherd, who took a stand for a fellow student who was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school.
Order forms are due by Friday, December 9th and items will be delivered to your child’s classroom by the end of January. If you would like to make a purchase, please complete and return the pink order form which was sent home with your child earlier this week. Return it to the attention of Debbie Bradner, school counselor, along with payment in the form of cash (exact change only, please) or a check made out to “McNair Upper ES.” If you require an additional order form, please email Mrs. Bradner at dgbradner1@fcps.edu
If you're looking for a holiday gift for your Mustang, we have student t-shirts on sale for $10 and Mustang magnets on sale for $1. If you are interested in purchasing one, feel free stop by the main office. The main office is open daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
 If you have any gently used coats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and/or hats that your child has outgrown, please consider donating them to McNair Upper ES.
With the temperatures getting cooler, we want to ensure that all of our Mustangs have a warm coat to wear as they walk to and from school each day as well as play outside at recess.
If you have any of these items to donate, please feel free to drop them off at the main office for our counselors to pick up and distribute to students in need.
*We will ensure they are washed before handed out.*
If you were unable to attend the parent information session about the Full Time Services Screening process, the presentation and a helpful checklist can be found on the McNair AAP Website. Spanish translations are available.
Mrs. Janofsky will host virtual Office Hours at the dates and times below to answer specific questions regarding the screening process. Please read the information provided on the McNair AAP Website prior to attending office hours.
Questions will be answered one at a time in a one on one format. Each parent/guardian will remain in the “waiting room” to respect student privacy.
