Dear Lancers:
It was a busy week last week at Longfellow. It was great to see that so many of you were able to get out to our production of “Peter Pan”. A big thank you to our hardworking theater teachers that helped to bring Peter Pan to life at Longfellow. It was great to see our students having fun; both performing on the stage and our tech crew working behind the scenes. Great job to all!
We have a short week this week as we prepare for the Thanksgiving Holiday. I hope that everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving, and safe travels to those of you headed out of town.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Jim

Matthew Leverett’s Painted Shoes Worn by Wizard’s Basketball Player, Jordan Schakel!
Matthew (in red shirt) presenting the sneakers he designed and hand painted to Washington Wizard basketball player Jordan Schakel, who wore Matthew’s hand-painted shoes for the Wizards game last week against the Grizzlies. Matthew used a Sponge Bob inspired design he created and then painted it onto the shoes, box, and tissue paper that wrapped the shoes. Before putting the shoes on for the game, Schakel walked around the court showing them to teammates and others courtside. Matthew is hard at work designing and painting another pair of sneakers for Schakel.

Longfellow Love
At Longfellow Middle School, we have approximately 100 students who live at, or below, the poverty level. Their families welcome our help with expenses such as school supplies and holiday meals. Longfellow Love is a student assistance program that supports Longfellow students in need through donations from families like you, as well as contributions from local businesses. The contributions and gift cards are then anonymously distributed directly to the families in need through the counseling system. With the rising cost of food this year, our families need our support more than ever! Click HERE to sign up to donate gift cards from Giant and Walmart to Longfellow families who need our help during the holiday season!
There are three ways you can purchase gift cards: 1. Go to Giant and/or Walmart and purchase gift cards. Drop them off at the front office in an envelope addressed to Sam Ramatowski. 2. Go online to Walmart Card or Giant Card and purchase *e-gift cards* and email to snramatowski@fcps.edu 3.
