Pine Springs drive

Pine Spring ES Holiday Gift Collection

We have partnered with Pine Spring ES this holiday season to fulfill gift wishes for their kindergarten class. This is our 8th annual gift drive to partner with our sister school. For many of their Kindergarten students, this will be the only gift they will receive this year.

Should you be interested in sponsoring a student, you may sign up HERE.

Cooper Book Fair

It's time for the Cooper Book Fair.  We need volunteers for setting up, manning cash registers, and packing up.  Many hands make light work. Thank you for sharing your time with us!

Parent Advocacy Handbook

The Minority Student Achievement Oversight Committee (MSAOC) has created a Parent Advocacy Handbook to provide information and support to families as they navigate the FCPS system for their children. It is designed to be particularly useful for families who may be less familiar with such a large school division and/or with schooling in the U.S.

The handbook is available on the web in English, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese and Korean at:  https://www.fcps.edu/parentadvocacyhandbook

Cooper Quiz Bowl Team

Celebration!

Cooper QB participated in the Thomas Jefferson Novice Academic Tournament (TJNAT) held at TJHSST on Saturday, November 19. There were two teams representing Cooper, one team placed in the Top 10, and the other team took the championship. We are so proud of your representation of Cooper!

AAP Level IV Parent Referrals

(7th grade only)

Parents/guardians of students in Grade 7 who would like their student to be considered for full-time advanced academic programs (level IV AAP services) for 2023-2024 may submit the AAP Level IV Referral Form to their Cooper school counselor no later than December 15, 2022

Forms for AAP Level IV referrals are available on the AAP Forms Page. No late referrals for AAP Level IV services can be accepted

Submitting a referral form for AAP Level IV will initiate a process that begins at Cooper and is then completed at the central office level. Cooper will put together a portfolio that includes multiple data which are considered holistically. At the central office level, a committee of professionals from various schools review materials to determine eligibility for level IV placement.
