donuts

Kindergarteners, family members and teachers enjoyed a special morning during their recent Donuts for Grownups event.

Dear Churchill Road families,

Thank you for the privilege of working with you and your child here at Churchill Road!  It is an incredible blessing to serve this community each and every day. Your partnership and voice is so important as we work together to make decisions about your child’s education.

During the first quarter, we have been focused on supporting each and every child by their individual needs. This means assignments and small groups are differentiated to meet these individual needs.  Additionally, we are striving to provide you with enough information concerning what you as parents can do at home to help your child improve both in the areas of academics and socio-emotional. On the last page of weekly agendas, you will find specific examples of things you can do at home.  If you need additional thoughts, please do ask!

We are also committed to providing opportunities for you to connect with other families!  Hopefully, you will be able to attend one of the grade level coffees we have been having or participate on one of our amazing field trips.  We love having you in the building and participating in these activities alongside us.  A big thank you to our incredible PTA for all they are doing in this area as well!

As parents, you have the greatest invested interest in your child. And we are here to support you!

Mrs. Pierson-Barr, Ms. Niccolls and the entire Churchill Road staff

National Family Engagement Month

National Family Engagement Month reminds us that families are children's first and most important teachers, advocates, and nurturers. Strong parental and family support is vital to the well-being and success of students. FCPS has many resources for families designed to increase engagement and partnerships with families while fostering academic success and social-emotional growth.

The following resources are available to all FCPS families. Visit the links below to learn more about workshops and classes for families, digital and printable resources for early childhood, mental health, military families, special education, multilingual and wellness topics.

Strategic Plan - Family Team Nominations

Developing the Strategic Plan will involve assembling multiple work teams that represent the perspectives of school staff, families, students, and community partners and organizations. FCPS is currently seeking nominations for families and caregivers who are interested in contributing to the strategic planning process as part of the Family Team (FT). This team will come together four times during the next several months. The families and caregivers of our current or prospective students can self-nominate or can be nominated using this form. Nominations are due by Tuesday, November 22.
