Franklin Sherman Flash - November 14

We're Better Together

choir singing for veterans day celebration

Dear Franklin Sherman Families,

On Thursday, we honored Veterans' Day with a school-wide patriotic sing along.  Our fifth and sixth grade chorus led the school with their beautiful voices.  A big thank you to our music teacher, Ms. Nevills, for starting our day  in song!

During COVID, our water fountains were not accessible to students.  As we returned this year, students once again have access to the water fountain.  We have several fountains that are filling stations for water bottles.  We encourage you to send your children in with a refillable water bottle daily.  If your child forgets, we will let them call you from the office and you can choose to bring their water bottle or they can drink from the water fountain.  We will no longer be providing bottles of water in the office after this week.

On Thursday, our cafeteria will serve a Thanksgiving menu.  This lunch is only for our students this year due to staffing and supply chain impacts on our Food Services staff.  We cannot accommodate additional guests on Thursday, and we appreciate your understanding.  We know that in the past families have enjoyed joining us and we encourage you to look for other ways to participate with your child's class, such as volunteering for field trips and joining us in other PTA activities.

Have a great week!

Kathy Quigley, Principal

Square 1 Art Fundraiser

Create wonderful gifts featuring your child's art, and benefit the school with every order. This year, students have been working with our art teacher, Ms. Eaton, on their artwork. Many students have completed their masterpieces, and other students will continue to work on their art over the next two weeks. The artwork will be uploaded to the Square 1 Art website once complete.

When your child's special piece of art is ready and uploaded, you can view it and place your order for great keepsakes. Additionally, you may also upload and order any of your favorite pieces of art that your child has completed. The deadline for orders is November 30.

Volunteer for the 6th Grade Play

All students get to enjoy the musical so volunteering is not limited to 6th grade parents. Please let Ms. Nevills know of your skills or availability.
