Floris Families,

WOW... it is already almost the end of 2022, and today is the last day of school in 2022. It has been a busy and wonderful few months of school, with our staff working hard to keep our students learning. Now it is time for Winter Break!

Yesterday started with the two-hour delay and ended with the fabulous band and choral music showcase. Many thanks to our fabulous building supervisor, Yeni Moreno, for taking such great care of our building and arriving early to ensure everything is ready for staff and students. Also, kudos to our music teachers, Sean Arzaga, Tori Field, Nancy Fox, and Danielle McLellan, and our students, for the many hours of hard work and planning to allow our students this performance opportunity.

Thank you to our fabulous community for the wonderful donations given to the Annual Giving Tree. Thanks also to Sarah de Kramer, James Duffield, and Maggie Seneca for making this happen for our families!

As a reminder, Winter Break will be held December 19 to January 2. All FCPS Schools are closed, and the Floris Main Office will also be closed. We look forward to welcoming students back in the new year. Classes resume on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

In order to give everyone a true break, teachers will not be assigning homework over the Winter Break, and no tests/due dates will be on January 3-4.

The next Friday Message will be sent on January 6, 2023.

We hope that your families have a wonderful Winter Break and a Happy New Year. We look forward to a fabulous 2023!

First Lego League Winners

Congratulations Floris' First Lego League (FLL) team

For the second year in a row, Floris' First Lego League (FLL) team “Lego Wizards” wins the Virginia/DC Regional Championship in Harrisonburg advancing them as the only Floris team to the national level. They competed with 200+ teams all over Virginia and DC to win this coveted title. This is an amazing achievement for a team to win the Championship consecutively.
