REMINDER: CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS

This Sunday, Nov. 6, at 2 a.m., daylight saving time ends. Don’t forget to move your clocks back one hour!

PHOTO & VIDEO REMINDER

As a gentle reminder, parents may not photograph or record students at school, unless the images are of your own children. Families send their children to school with an expectation of privacy and this must be honored. In addition, we have families that have opted their child(ren) out of photography and the posting of their child’s image. We thank you in advance for helping us protect the privacy of all of our students.

Full-Time AAP Referrals

Full-Time AAP is advanced instruction and rigor in all four core content areas (language arts, math, science, social studies).  If you and your child feel that this program is necessary to fulfill academic needs, the referral window is open.  Referrals for full-time AAP are only for parents of current 2nd-6th graders.  If referring, parents need:

  • Full-Time AAP Referral Form (required)
  • Parent/Guardian Questionnaire
  • 2 Pages of Work Samples
    • 8 ½ x 11, single-sided
    • No more than 2 works per page
    • 2 pages maximum not two samples of work
    • Work samples should show academic need
    • No letters of recommendation
    • No awards/certificates

Parents should submit all materials at one time either hard copy or digitally.  If submitting hard copy, please drop off in the front office to the AAP Drop Box and complete a submission receipt.  If submitting digitally, email all items in one email using only PDF or JPG attachments to Kathleen Bach at kmbach@fcps.edu.

Once a completed full-time AAP referral file is submitted, you will receive confirmation via email within 24 hours.  If submitted on Friday, expect your confirmation on the following Monday or school day.  The email will confirm your submission and let you know if all materials meet the requirements or if something needs to be fixed.  If something must be fixed the email will tell you specifically what that is so you can resubmit those items.

You can find additional information on our Parent Schoology Site in the AAP folder or reach out to Kathleen Bach, kmbach@fcps.edu, if you have specific needs.
