It's hard to believe but we are already wrapping up the first quarter of school and the fall season. This week our Volleyball and Field Hockey teams wrapped up their post season runs with a couple of hard fought loses in the regional tournament and this evening our Football team wraps up it's season at home against Justice. Our Cheer showed a lot of improvement from the district meet to the regional meet and our Cross Country runners will hit the course next Wednesday at Burke Lake for their regional race.
Next up will be our winter season featuring Basketball, Gymnastics, Swim & Dive, Indoor Track and Wrestling. See below for more information about tryouts which begin on Monday, November 7th!

Atoms Athletics Highlights
On Thursday the boys and girls Cross Country teams travelled to Burke Lake Park to run in the National District Meet. The boys were led by Terry Moreno-Valeriano who finished 4th with a time of 16:43 and the girls top runner was Keira Dalrymple, finishing 10th with a time of 21:27. The team race in the region meet this Thursday.

The Activities Office would like to welcome our new Administrative Assistant, Nicole Salgado Lopez! Nicole previously worked at Annandale until this summer but loved Annandale so much that she wanted to come back! She is Annandale community member and we are truly excited to have her in the office!

Winter sport tryouts begin on Monday, November 7th. Winter sports include basketball, swim & dive, wrestling, gymnastics, and indoor track.
In order to participate, there are 2 items that need to be completed prior to the first day of tryouts.
1) Sports Physical
Completed and turned in to Athletic Trainers Ryan Hughes (rhughes@fcps.edu) or Kathy Ayers (kaayers@fcps.edu)
2) Activity Registration
This is an online submission - it encompasses the Emergency Care Form and Concussion Education Training

Volunteer Opportunities
We have several opportunities to volunteer throughout the school year including traffic and parking control during varsity football games, operating our pop-up Atoms Spiritwear store, and offering concessions to those attending our sporting events on the fields or in the gyms.
