Sibshops Opportunity for Siblings of Children with Special Needs
The first Sibshops for this school year will be held at Providence Community Center on Monday, October 31st. Sibshops are workshops for children in grades 2-6 enrolled in FCPS and they provide an opportunity to meet other siblings in a relaxed setting, celebrate the contributions made by their siblings, share experiences, and most importantly have fun! See fliers in the folder for registration information. This flier has been translated into multiple languages. We have a team of school social workers who plan and facilitate Sibshops. If you are interested in supporting these efforts, e-mail Laura Cook or Beth Holzman.

News From Our Family Liaison
Family Engagement Series will begin Friday, November 4 at 9 a.m. in the Hayfield Elementary Cafeteria. Join Marily Grotz, Family Liaison, and Shelly Oberst, Military Liaison, for an in-person presentation and a chance to meet other HES families. Refreshments will be provided. If you are unable to come, feel free to contact me with questions you have about Hayfield Elementary and Fairfax County Public School District.
TalkingPoints
TalkingPoints is an easy and safe way families can communicate in their home languages with their child’s teachers and school staff for free. I will be using this platform to communicate with you throughout the school year. There are two ways families can use TalkingPoints.
- School and teacher messages will come directly to the phone number that is registered in our system as a SMS text or through the TalkingPoints Parent App.
- You can reply by text or through the app.
Families will receive messages in the language they have listed as their correspondence language. Families can reply in any language and the message will be translated into English for the school. If families prefer to not receive text messages from TalkingPoints, they can reply with "GOODBYE" at any time.
