Family Life Education (FLE) curriculum is taught in grades K-12 and lessons include a variety of age-appropriate topics that promote parent involvement, fostering positive self-concepts, and provides coping mechanisms for dealing with pressure and stresses related to the students’ developmental stages and abilities. This year at Bailey’s Upper, FLE will take place during the week of December 12-16, 2022.
FLE Information/Parent Preview Night
Parents are invited to attend the FLE Parent Preview on November 14, 2022 from 9-10:00 AM at Bailey' Upper. If you are unable to make it at this time and would like more information, please reach out to Ms. Kargbo at ckargbo@fcsp.edu . If you would like to opt your student out of FLE, the forms can be found in the linked below and paper copies will be sent home in the upcoming weeks.

Beginning on October 18, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid. Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by November 4. All results are confidential.
TJHSST is delighted to announce the 10th annual science fair is taking place on March 18th, 2023.
A brainstorming/interest session will be held on November 4th, 2022. at 5:00 – 6:00 PM. The form to sign up can be accessed using this link. The session will be held both online and in person.

Parents are invited to sign up for a Parent Coffee on November 16, 2022 from 9-10:00 AM at Bailey' Upper.
Your child will join you in the cafeteria at 9:15 so you can interact and learn about Digital tools at Bailey's Upper. You will learn together how to best access and use Schoology for Class assignments, as well as, ST Math, Lexia, MyOn and other tools that will support learning with your child. You will need to complete and submit this form to join this parent coffee event. We will be limiting attendance to 50 parents and their child.

Weekly Parent Conversations will occur virtually on Mondays, 7:00pm – 8:00pm. The themes will cover wellness, math, and language arts. Specific topics will be announced the Friday before in News You Choose.

We are excited to start welcoming parents/guardians next week to join their student(s) for a special lunch at school! Your students class will have an assigned day for you to join them here at Bailey’s Upper. This is a great opportunity for parents/guardians to come in for lunch with their child. Please see the schedule to view when your child’s class is scheduled for a lunch visit. We encourage parents to eat the same lunch as their child either packed or purchased. On the day of your child’s lunch, please arrive 5-10 minutes early so you can sign-in at the office. All lunches will be hosted in room 249. All fees for upcoming field trips will be paid online through My School Bucks. My School Bucks (MSB) is a FCPS system for payments of student fees and activities. It is easy, secure, and there are no fees for parents.
Through My School Bucks Parents pay for Instrument Rentals, Field Trips, and other special items.
Follow these simple steps:
- Go to www.MySchoolBucks.com, or the My School Bucks link on the Baileys Upper webpage and register an account.
- Add a child by school & student ID or birthdate. You will receive a confirmation email.
- You may now pay for any item of your choice in the school store using a credit or debit card, or e-check.
- A confirmation email will be sent to the school to let us know you’ve paid.
If you have any issues with the My School Bucks system you may call the main office at (703) 503-2700 for assistance.
