All Fairfax Academy students have received paperwork to attend the 5th Annual Career Experience Expo on Wednesday, November 9th.

This all-day in-person event for current Fairfax Academy students will begin with a keynote speaker presenter. Our dynamic keynote speaker for this year’s Expo, Selma Patillo Simms, is certified ASL interpreter and will be discussing freelancing across communication and arts career fields.
The presentation will be followed by four 45-minute workshop sessions led by a wide-variety of over 30+ industry professionals. During this conference style event, students will select workshops for each of the sessions. The day will end with a special culminating activity for participants.
The following is just a glimpse of the industry topics represented at this year's Expo: Copyright and the Arts, interviewing, Arabic Language as a Career Enhancer, Resume Writing, Mindsets for careers in social media marketing, Stage Production and How that Translates to All Industries, Gallaudet University as a Hearing Students, A Career In Television Production, Auditioning, Language Flagship opportunities, Virtual Reality and more.
Students can access the Expo google site through Schoology to see a complete list of presenters and topics.
Field trip packets were distributed in all classes and extras are available in all Academy classrooms and in the Fairfax Academy office.
