Upcoming Opportunities for families of students with disabilities

Hello, Springfield District,

Please be aware of the following resource opportunities taking place this week for families of students with disabilities.

All my very best-

Virtual Postsecondary Week Career and Transition Services Presentations

During FCPS’ Virtual Postsecondary Week Career and Transition Services will offer the following presentations for students with disabilities.

College Success for Students with Disabilities

This session will help participants understand their student’s rights and responsibilities and the process and resources available to help their child transition to college. Students that recognize their talents and strengths, learn self-advocacy skills, know how to access accommodations and support in college and embrace new challenges as they transition from high school to college are much better equipped to succeed in postsecondary school.

Attend the session via Zoom on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.

Considerations for Students with Disabilities in High School Versus College

This presentation will provide an overview of the considerations available for students with disabilities in High School versus a College setting.

Attend the session via Zoom on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.

More information may be found on the Look to the Future Week webpage.
