Hello Scottie Families!

Tonight is the night!  Our PTO Fall Festival and the opening night of our Book Fair take place at Bonnie Brae from 6-8 PM this evening.  Our PTO board and volunteers have planned a fun, family event, and our librarian, Ms. Lewis, is ready to welcome students and parents to the Book Fair this evening.  The enthusiasm is palpable throughout the building today, and we can't wait to see so many of our families tonight!

A reminder that Monday is a holiday for students in observance of Diwali, and our office will be closed.  We look forward to seeing everyone back at Bonnie Brae on Tuesday, October 25, for the final week of the first grading period.

Our SCA Leadership Team is up and running!  Please check out the section below for details on our upcoming October SCA spirit day, Costume Day!  Costume Day is set for Friday, October 28.  We encourage students and staff to participate, either in costume or by wearing Bonnie Brae colors of blue and white!

Have a great weekend, Scotties!

SCA Spirit Day – Costume Day!

We are excited that our SCA Leadership Team will be collaborating with our SCA sponsors on monthly Bonnie Brae spirit days this year!  Following tradition, Bonnie Brae will be holding our annual storybook character/costume day on October 28, 2022. Students are encouraged to dress up in their favorite storybook character or costume of their choice. We want all of our Scotties to be able to participate in spirit days, and we encourage all students, staff, and parents to take part on October 28 by either dressing in a costume, or by wearing Bonnie Brae colors of blue and white!

  • Contain no blood, gore, or signs and themes of violence
  • Not include play guns, swords, knives or weapons of any type
  • Allow full participation in the day and students to be seated at their desk
  • Not be bulky to the point that it interferes or impedes with other students or classroom activities

Teachers have been assigned a time-slot to bring students who are either missing a picture or have requested a retake. Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid

FCPS will be asking ALL families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid. Returning this form is important because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.

For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by November 4. All results are confidential.
