Floris Families,
It was a short, but busy week. We have started the second quarter and continue to see learning and joy throughout the school. It is also exciting to see our Eagles enjoying the new playground area!
Next week is a busy one as well. Next Tuesday, November 8, is Election Day. The day will be observed as a holiday for students and teachers. Next Friday, November 11, is a student holiday/school planning day for the Veterans Day holiday. Veterans Day provides a great reason to pause, reflect, and recognize the extraordinary sacrifices our Veterans and their families have made on our behalf, and we thank them for their service.
Thank you to the PTA for providing some "fa-boo-lous" fall treats with our staff on Monday. They were appreciated.
We hope to see lots of families at the PTA Movie Night, tonight in the café for WALL-E.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Holly Walker, Principal, hjwalker@fcps.edu
Rob Gibbs, Assistant Principal, ragibbs@fcps.edu

“One Floris Day”
Coming November 18th
Twice a year the world celebrates “International Stand Up To Bullying” day. The first International Stand Up to Bullying Day took place in February of 2008 in Canada. During the initial event, over 125,000 students and staff registered to take a stand against bullying. Since then, students all around the world have taken part in this very important day, held twice a year. At FLORIS, we will celebrate ONE FLORIS DAY on Friday, November 18. Please have your students wear their Floris spirit wear and/or our school colors of blue and white to help them remember that at Floris, we are a community of ONE. We stand up for each other, we help each other, we care for each other. #EveryEagleEveryDay.
