Bulldog Breakdown 10/9 - 10/15

Good Evening Bulldog Families–

I hope that everybody is doing well and enjoying a fantastic weekend! 

There is a variety of information in the Breakdown this week, so please be sure to take some time and check it out. There is a lot on school pictures and yearbooks that may impact your students. Additionally, please remember that PSAT is Wednesday, 10/12, and that this is an early release (more info below). If your student is a 9th or 12th grader not taking the test, please keep them home for the day.

PSAT Day

Reminder that Wednesday, October 12th is PSAT and SAT School Day. All 9th graders and those 12th graders that are not testing should stay at home and work on school assignments. Those 10th and 11th graders that attend will take the PSAT/NMSQT while the 12th graders that registered will take the SAT School Day. Please remind your students to check their @fcpsschools.net account email. They received an email from Susan Fox on October 4th with their test day details. Reach out to Susan Fox at safox@fcps.edu with any questions.

Yearbook sales

Yearbooks are at their lowest price all year, $65, for one more week! Go to www.yearbookordercenter.com and use #5577 for Westfield. Prices go up on October 16th.

Senior pictures

The last chance to have senior portraits taken at Westfield High School in the Lecture Hall is November 1 (this is a school day but has been pre-approved by Mr. Dibari). The attire for the school’s yearbook pose will be in the traditional Tuxedos and Drapes. The photo company will provide the Tuxedo and Drapes. In addition to the FREE yearbook session, there are also sessions that include casual/personality portraits and cap and gown portraits. Senior yearbook ads

This is the last week to submit a senior baby ad for the yearbook. Go to www.yearbookordercenter and use #5577 for Westfield. Page down to Share Your Love and click on Start Your Ad to create. Ads are due by Friday, October 14th. If you have any questions, please contact the yearbook adviser, Mrs. Naeve, at jlnaeve@fcps.edu.

Grades 9 – 11 picture retakes

Any student in grades 9-11 who missed their picture day back in September can go to retake day on Wednesday, October 19th. Retakes will be held in the Lecture Hall. Students can stop by between classes or during their lunch period.

 Here are some details for Friday’s homecoming Football game vs Oakton

Friday October 14, 2022

Oakton at Westfield @ 7:00 pm.

 The cost of all Varsity Football games is $5.00 for students and adults.

• To avoid long lines, you can purchase your ticket at Etix.com.  If you have a prepaid ticket or a booster pass please enter through the pass gate
• The game starts at 7:00 PM. Make sure to dress appropriately for the weather.   
• We are encouraging all elementary and middle school students need to be accompanied & supervised by an adult while at the game.
• High school students who get dropped off must plan to have their rides waiting for them at 9:30 PM. 
• We are expecting a very large crowd so please plan on coming early.
• If you or your student plans to come, please take the time to discuss the relevant information below:
• No backpacks or other bags will be allowed in the stadium.  (Students and Adults)
• No outside food or drinks are allowed. The concession stand will be open.
• The purpose for students who attend our varsity football games is to watch the game, cheerleaders, band, and dance team.
• We cheer for Westfield and not against our opponent. All cheers should be positive.
• The gates to the stadium will open at 5:30pm.
• All students need to leave immediately after the game.
• All spectators are expected to be in the stands. We should not have guests hanging out by the concession stand and hills. 
• Elementary & middle school should have an adult present.
• If you leave the game, you will not be able to re-enter the stadium.
• Whistles, air horns and similar noisemakers are prohibited.
• Anyone caught trying to enter the game without paying will be removed and can be banned from attending future games. 

WHS Food Pantry

PTA FOOD PANTRY is looking for donations to help kids in need.  We have seen a huge increase in snack requests since last year.  Please consider checking out our wish list and adding an item to your cart.  It will ship directly to the school.  We are also accepting similar items (individually wrapped snacks, new sweatpants, book bags and water bottles) at the bin on my front porch if you would rather not purchase online.  Please reach out to me with any questions about donating.
