Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid
Beginning October 18, FCPS will be asking all families to fill out a Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid.
Returning this form is important, because information from this survey results in an additional $3 million in grants each year from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds are used to support all Fairfax County public schools and centers.
For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child's school. If Sections 1 and 2 of the survey do not apply to you, just check the box in Section 3. All forms must be signed, dated, and returned by November 4. All responses are confidential.
Watch the video to learn more about this process.

Parent Information Line - Available in 8 Languages
Parents who speak Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Spanish, Urdu, or Vietnamese can call a telephone information line for general information about FCPS and to receive support if they are having difficulty communicating with their children's schools due to a language barrier.
Here Comes the Bus Mobile App
Please be aware that all of us are getting used to new routines at the start of the school year. Thank you for your patience as those routines are established.
If a student’s bus is delayed, parents may access the Bus Delay Notification System or use the Here Comes the Bus mobile app to receive the delayed bus report. Contact the Transportation Office at 703-446-2050. For any concerns after hours (after 4:30 p.m.), contact Safety and Security at 571-423-2000.
*Find the transportation Services contact specific to your school by visiting https://www.fcps.edu/who-contact.
Health Information and Emergency Care Forms
The Health Information Form (HIF) (SS/SE -71) Health Information Form and the Emergency Care Information form (SS/SE-3) Emergency Care Information provide valuable information regarding student health conditions. These forms are critical in the early identification of students who may need healthcare support in the educational environment. Along with the development of Healthcare Plans (HCP) and Action Plans, the Public Health Nurses (PHNs) utilize the information contained in the HIF to develop teaching strategies for FCPS staff in order to meet the requirements of Regulation 2104 Health Services-School Health Related Needs.
For SY 22-23, these forms will be required for all students. Parents/guardians may submit these forms either through electronic submission accessed within the weCare@school module; or in their Tuesday folder for those families without ParentVue accounts.
Tutor.com Available All School Year
FCPS students continue to have unlimited access to live, 24/7, 1-to-1, online tutoring services through Tutor.com at no cost to families during the 22-23 SY. Student participation is optional and parents/guardians can opt their student(s) out of accessing the services. Detailed information and FAQs are available on the Tutor.com Online Tutoring Services website.
Students will continue to access Tutor.com via a link in Schoology. Information about how to log in and access a tutor is provided in the following instructional video:

COVID/Health Updates
Please do not send your child to school if there are any signs or symptoms of being ill. We can keep students and staff healthy if we all do our part by staying home when not feeling well. The FCPS Health and Safety Guidance document continues to be updated with the latest information.
COVID diagnostic testing will be available for FCPS students, teachers, and staff at five locations across the county on October 17, 18, and 19. This testing is for those who are either experiencing COVID symptoms or have been exposed to someone diagnosed with COVID. Appointments are not required, but registration must be completed before testing. Visit the COVID Testing webpage for more information.
School Immunizations
School may be out for summer, but now is the time for your child to catch up on school immunizations! Check out the list of Virginia’s required school immunizations and make your doctor appointments now before the August rush or visit the Fairfax County Health Department website for a schedule of child immunization clinics.
Substitute Teachers Needed
Substitutes help our students thrive when their teacher must be out of the classroom and are essential members of every school’s team.
We value our substitutes. They are essential members of every school’s team. Substitute teaching is a great option for:
- Parents
- Retired Teachers
- College Students
- Part-Time Workers
If you want to earn money while making a difference in your community, consider subbing!
Virtual Information sessions are offered weekly! Follow this link for more information.
FCPS Policies and Regulations
Virginia’s Standards of Quality require all school divisions to notify the public annually of the availability of the school system's policies. Policies, regulations, and notices are available on our website.
