You are invited to attend a Superintendent Community Conversation for Military-Connected Families October 13, 2022, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Learn more about Dr. Michelle Reid, FCPS superintendent, and help her get to know the unique perspective of military-connected families. This hybrid event will be held in the 1st floor cafe at the FCPS Gatehouse Administration Center, 8115 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church VA 22042. Free parking is available in the underground garage. The start to the school year has found the Woodley Hills Beavers hard at work in the library learning library expectations, routines, organization and book care. We ask that families have a conversation at home about how to keep library books in good condition. Last year, many books were destroyed due to exposure to water. Books are getting wet and therefore moldy by water bottles in backpacks. Books must be discarded when this happens. Please help us keep the library books in good condition by checking to make sure students are not keeping their water bottles and books together. A bill for the cost of the book will be sent home if a book is ruined from getting wet or food spilled on it. Thank you for helping us keep the library books in circulation and in good condition.
Although we are very excited that ALL students will continue to receive FREE breakfast and lunch this year, we encourage families who may be eligible for free and reduced priced meals to continue to apply. There are several advantages if your child is found eligible. The approval letter allows your child and your family to be eligible for discounts on computers, internet service, scholarships, classes and so much more. You may renew or apply online at https://www.myschoolapps.com. Translated applications are available on the food service website https://www.fcps.edu/node/31049. FCPS students continue to have unlimited access to live, 24/7, 1-to-1, online tutoring services through Tutor.com at no cost to families during the 22-23 SY. Student participation is optional and parents/guardians can opt their student(s) out of accessing the services. Detailed information and FAQs are available on the Tutor.com Online Tutoring Services website.
Students can access Tutor.com via a link in Schoology. Additional information about how to log in and access a tutor is provided to families via the following: Elementary - How It Works and Middle & High - How It Works. Questions not answered in the posted resources may be sent to onlinetutoring@fcps.edu.

FCPS’ updated Student Rights & Responsibility booklet is now available online and in the ParentVue section of the Student Information System (SIS). The SR&R booklet explains expectations for student behavior, and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable, and supportive school environment.
Each year, we ask parents to review, sign, and return the SR&R to their child’s school. In ParentVue, you may now download and digitally sign the SR&R. Every parent/guardian with a ParentVUE account will see the SR&R upon login to ParentVUE until the SR&R acknowledgement has been completed.
