Secondary World Languages Basal Resources Committee Opening
FCPS is engaging in the Request for Proposal and basal resource adoption processes for Secondary World Languages. The process, governed by FCPS Regulation 3004.5, will include a community review period and an in-depth review by a committee made up of representatives from various stakeholder groups -- teachers, administrators, and community members.
As a member of the School Board, I may appoint a Springfield District member to the committee to review these instructional materials. Appointed members must be able to read, listen, write and speak Arabic, Simplified Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Latin, or Spanish.
Appointed representatives must be able to meet between 4 and 8:30 p.m. on the meeting dates listed below by language. The meetings on November 7 and December 12 will be virtual, with the remaining meetings at Pimmit Hill Center (7510 Lisle Avenue, Falls Church, VA 22043).
- French, German, Spanish, and Spanish for Heritage Speakers Instructional Resource Review Committees: November 7, 14, 29; December 5, 7 and 12
- Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Latin Instructional Resource Review Committees: November 7, 21, 30; December 6 and 12
