Message from Ms. Kearns
Dear Lake Braddock Families,
It is hard to believe that we are getting close to the end of the first quarter of this school year already! We appreciate all the continued patience and support our community has provided us.
We had a wonderful opportunity to welcome Miyavi, a Japanese guitarist, to our stage this past week. Thank you Mr. Otani for helping to organize this amazing experience with the Japanese Embassy.
Looking ahead to the month of October, you will notice a variety of events and happenings that will bring together our Bruin nation even more! Please also notice some upcoming calendar reminders, especially the note about October 12th, our PSAT/SAT day here at Lake Braddock. Have a wonderful weekend, and we look forward to seeing the students back in school on Tuesday.
Go Bruins!
Lindsey Kearns
Our Bruin garden is starting to head into fall! Thank you Mr. Kuchta for keeping our grounds beautiful all year long!

National Bullying Prevention Month
October is National Bullying Prevention Month. To help develop a common understanding of Bullying, below is the FCPS definition.
Bullying in Students Rights and Responsibilities is defined as: “Any aggressive and unwanted behavior that is intended to harm, intimidate, or humiliate the victim; involves a real or perceived power imbalance between the aggressor or aggressors and victim; and is repeated over time or causes severe emotional trauma. “Bullying” includes cyberbullying. “Bullying” does not include ordinary teasing, horseplay, argument, or peer conflict.”
For more information on how FCPS handles a bullying situation please visit the FCPS Bullying Prevention and Intervention webpage. Our goal is to ensure all students feel safe and welcomed at school. If you have questions and/or concerns about something that is going on at school, please contact the front office so that they can support you and most importantly your student.
