Custodian Appreciation Day
October 2nd was National Custodian Day and schools across the nation honored their custodial staff for their hard work and dedication to our schools, our students and our communities. The Lees Corner staff showed their gratitude in a variety of ways - through cards, posters, words of thanks and small gifts. Our beloved LCES building looks great due to the hard work of our custodial staff. THANK YOU Ahmad, Maria, Ba and Choi!

Toiletries Drive for WFCM 10/11-10/17
Lees Corner graduate and current Eagle Scout Conner Seiler is organizing a toiletries drive for Western Fairfax Christian Ministries. According to Conner:
"WFCM is a food/toiletry bank that gives families in need about $350 a month in free groceries. Toiletry items cannot be purchased by people in need using the Virginia Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). These people are in desperate need of these items, which is why they are so reliant on organizations like WFCM for their toiletry needs. When I recently visited WFCM's location, I saw their toiletry shelves were almost completely barren.
Here is a list of the supplies the beneficiary needs:
Toilet Paper
Shampoo
Conditioner
Deodorant
Size 6 Diapers
Large size pull-ups (for toddlers)
Bodywash
Lotion
Shaving Cream
Razors
Toothbrushes & Toothpaste
Kleenex
All items can be sent to school and dropped off the designated box in the front office.

Donations for Our STEAM Lab
Can You Lend a Hand?
In STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) classes, our students have been busy learning the Engineering Design Process, exploring how the content they learn in the classroom applies to real-world issues, and coming up with innovative ideas to solve problems. Many of our projects require the use of recycled materials or items that you might have around your home.
Please check out the latest things that we need, and see if you can help by donating these items.
- CDs (without the cases)
- Clean, empty cereal boxes (you can collapse them so they take up less room)
- Clean 1 liter plastic bottles
- Paper towel/toilet paper cardboard tubes
If you have any of these items, please send them in with your child or drop them off at the front office. Thank you so much for your help!
