Overview of Advanced Academic Program Services

Q & A Session on October 11, 6:30-7:15 p.m.

Mrs. Rode and Mrs. Keane have collaborated to create another informational video about Advanced Academics. This video focuses specifically on the screening process for Level IV (full-time) AAP services. Students can be screened in grades 2-7, for services in grades 3-8.   (View Video)

Mrs. Rode and Mrs. Keane will be co-hosting a question-and-answer (Q&A) session on Zoom on October 11th from 6:30 p.m.-7:15 p.m. to address any questions about the Level IV (full-time) screening process. To receive the Zoom link, please sign up no later than Monday, October 10th.


Pixel Can Art Food Drive

Now Through the End of October

What: We are collecting 14-16 oz. sized cans of vegetables and beans

When: Collection of cans starts NOW until the end of OCTOBER.

Where: Drop of your cans and other dry food goods in the boxes by the front office.

Why: We will donate the food to ECHO in Springfield. Before it is donated, students will create a pixel can art sculpture to be displayed for the school.

Lake Braddock SS Pyramid Feeder Night (also Senior Night)

Where:  LBSS Field Hockey Game

When: Thursday, October 13, arrive by 7:00 PM to hear your school be called.  Games starts at 7:30 PM. More details on tickets are coming.

Lake Braddock SS Dance Team Hip Hop Dance Clinic

Friday, October 28, 5-8 p.m.

The LBSS Dance Team is hosting a Hip Hop Dance Clinic on October 28 from 5-8 p.m. for students ages 5-12. Learn and perform a tricky dance with the dance team and get a free T-shirt and treat!  The cost is $40.

Fall Photoshoot Rescheduled

Sunday, October 9th due to inclement weather

We’re glad to announce that Susan Johnson will be back on Sunday, October 9th from 2-4pm to take family pictures at KPES outside on the grass in front of the playground. This fantastic opportunity will cost you $40 for two photos, including digital access.  Please sign up here.  Lisa Anderson will be there to collect coats on behalf of ECHO - we appreciate your donations; all sizes are needed!

Chick-Fil-A Spirit Week

October 3-7

As a reminder, our highly successful Spirit Week is back this week, October 3-7.  Order all week, at any time of the day, and just mention the KP/KG PTA at the Burke Chick-Fil-A - 15% of the proceeds will be donated back to your school!

InCourage Parents Night Out

Friday, October 14, 6:30-8:30 PM

The cost is $45/child; more information coming soon!

FREE PTA Fall-tastic Fun Festival

Saturday, October 15, 1:30-4:30 PM

Our second PTA event will be held at Burke Station Swim Club.  Come by for some fall fun, including crafts, candy apples, empanada food truck (for purchase), games, entertainment, and more!

Monday, October 17, 7 PM at Kings Park ES

This meeting will be at Kings Park and also available virtually through zoom; more information coming soon!
