You Are Invited!

Brookfield Family Night Invitation

Brookfield is happy to announce our Book Fair / Family Night in two weeks!

We are excited to invite our Brookfield families to our night-time event in our school building.  To give families flexibility, we are going to hold the event over two days. We ask parents to come on the day that matches their child's last name.  If that day does not work for you, feel free to come on the day that works best for your family.

  • A - L  Wednesday, October 12th at 5:30 p.m.

  • M – Z please come on Thursday, October 13th at 5:30 p.m.

Portrait of a Graduate

Look what's growing in Ms. Shirabi's Kindergarten class!

Growing Portrait of a Graduate at Brookfield

This year Brookfield students will be focusing on the five Portrait of a Graduate Skills:

  • Communicator
  • Collaborator
  • Critical and Creative Thinker
  • Goal-Oriented and Resilient
  • Ethical and Global Citizen

These attributes are important because they empower students to be productive citizens of a global community as well as be successful as they move through life!

Financial Support with Activity Fees

There are many activities and events that offer reduced fees for families in need. For example, participation in a sports league, SAT test fees for high school students and rental fees for musical instruments are just some of the activities where a reduced fee can be offered for a family in need.

So how do I get proof to show my family qualifies for reduced fees?

If you believe that your family might qualify, please fill out a free/reduced meal form found here: https://www.fcps.edu/frm Once you fill out the form and submit your financial information, you will get an email confirmation. That confirmation serves as your proof that your family qualifies for reduced fees wherever they are offered.

But I thought that everyone at Brookfield  received free lunch this year and that we didn't have to fill out a form.

That is correct. No families have to fill out a form for their child to have free lunch this school year. But if your family needs to get reduced fees for things like instrument rentals and sports teams, you do need to fill out the form.

If you have questions, please reach out to Maria Delgadillo and Shawnee Pace, our Family Liaisons or Kisha Lee, our Social Worker. They can be reached at 703-814-8700.

ESSER III Funding Supports Student Success: Your Voice Matters

In the fall of 2021, FCPS received $188.8 million in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER III) funding to support the safe operation of schools and address the impacts of COVID-19 on students.

ESSER III focus areas have included resources for prevention and mitigation of COVID, academic services, multilingual engagement, support for students’ social emotional needs, and professional development.

Your Voice Matters!

A feedback form is now live on the ESSER III webpage.  Your input will inform the School Board and FCPS staff on the community’s view of our work. Watch this video to see the impact ESSER III funds are having in our schools. Learn more on FCPS’ website

Broncos Fun Run!

Fun Run

Have you heard about the Broncos Fun Run??

Everyone will be outside on October 27th, running laps with our classes, to raise money for the school! Students collect pledges from friends and family by using the paper form that went home in Tuesday folders this week, or online at https://pledgestar.com/brookfieldrun/.

Classes can earn fun things for collecting donations, including stuffed animal and pajama days, popcorn and pizza parties, and so much more! Let's meet our goal of raising $15,000 this year, Broncos!!
