Message from the Principal

Dr. Maggie Grove

Greetings to our Wolftrap families,

We certainly got a nice blast of Fall on Friday! It reminds us that the school year is well underway, and that instruction is happening all over the building. We continue to complete assessments that are routinely scheduled at the beginning of the year to provide information to teachers. Teachers use this data to plan for whole group instruction and structure smaller groups to work with during class time and Wolfie Time. Wolfie Time is our structured time of the day to work with groups of students in classes who need extensions or reinforcement in grade level concepts. Small groups will continue to form now, as teachers study, process and utilize data in their planning.  Our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Lisa O’Donovan, serves with Dr. Mona Lohr as our assessment team. They can answer any questions you may have about assessments.

We were excited to see those of you who could join us at the first PTA meeting and will look forward to seeing many of you in the next few weeks at Pizza Bingo and in volunteer jobs around school.  Please let me know if I can provide any assistance. We remain committed to nurturing every learner.

Dr. Maggie Grove
Principal

Schoology Assistance!

We have heard from families that it would be helpful to provide more assistance with Schoology. To that end, our SBTS, Ms. Michelle Mussen, has provided a narrated power point with some great tips. Please see the link to this presentation here. Teachers will also be sending out this helpful information directly. Ms. Mussen will be scheduling office hours in the upcoming weeks to assist with any additional questions. Please stay tuned for those dates. Please continue to let us know how we can help!

2022-2023 PTA Membership Drive

Wolftrap PTA Membership Drive September 2022

The Wolftrap PTA is made up of families, teachers, staff, community members and leaders with one core goal: to give our children the tools and resources to achieve their fullest potential.

PTA membership is $25 per family and supports a wide variety of Wolftrap ES community engagement and enrichment programs to support our students, school and teachers. (Learn More)

After the first full month of school we are excited to report we are at about 48% of our PTA membership drive goals at just under 200 family members. We are looking forward to increasing those numbers over the next few months.

If you haven't already, Join the PTA! You don't have to volunteer to join.
