Dear Fox Mill Family,
We had another good week of school this week. We were delighted to see some of the fencing come down from the front of the building, giving us a peek of our front office. We cannot wait to access our new entrance in late October.
We began our Virginia Growth Assessment, which will continue into next week. It was very interesting to see our Kindergarten classes engage in Reading with their reading buddies from upper grades.
Our afterschool activities are in full swing. Students participating had a blast this week. As a reminder, chess club activities will start in October.
Advanced Academics Program Parent Information Meeting
This year our Parent Information Meeting to explain the continuum of Advanced Academic Services at Fox Mill will be held virtually on the evening of Wednesday September 28, 2022, from 6:30-7:30 pm. A zoom link to access the meeting is included below. A flyer was sent home earlier detailing the continuum of services as well as the testing and identification timelines. Family Life Education

Safety Drills
We continue to practice safety drills this week. Students participated in a bus evacuation drill. Student safety and security is our top priority. We are happy to report that students were able to follow directions quickly during the bus evacuation drill.
Our teachers did an excellent job preparing students and following our safety protocols for the three drills we participated in since the beginning of the school year. We had some excellent questions from all our students when we engaged them in a discussion outlining students’ rights and responsibilities at Fox Mill ES.
