The Air Force JROTC cadets had a visit from Brigadier General Cantwell and Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt) Alexander from Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama. He is commander for all Air Force ROTC and JROTC units. CMSgt Alexander is his senior enlisted advisor. They were here to spend time with the cadets and visit the unit. Five of our senior cadets briefed him on the unit goals, accomplishments, teams, classroom activities, extracurricular activities, and community service. The cadets did a great job telling the story of their AFJROTC unit!

Good Writing Really Does Matter!
Do you shudder at the thought of having to write in your future job? Then you need to know this: Everyone can improve their writing! It’s a skill that can be learned. You need only the desire to improve and the willingness to practice.
Think about bike riding. Did you ride perfectly the first time you climbed aboard a bike? Or did you wobble, fall off, and get a few scrapes? Did you keep practicing until you could control the bike? You’ll experience the same kind of trial-and-error process as you learn to write better.
All jobs require writing of one kind or another! Almost three-fourths, 73.4%, of hiring managers who responded to a survey by the National Association of Colleges said they are looking for applicants who can write in a businesslike manner. They want every document that goes out to be free of any type of error.
How do I improve my writing? Think before you put even one word on your screen or paper! Why will you be writing? Will you schedule your vacation, provide instructions for a coworker or write for some other reason? On the job, people usually write for one of four purposes: To (1) convey information, (2) make requests, (3) persuade, (4) express good will.
