DEADLINE EXTENDED: After-School Enrichment Programs
The Keene Mill PTA and Baroody Camps have partnered to bring a wonderful variety of enrichment programs for Keene Mill students. Our goal is to offer diverse programs that are exciting, creative, educational and fun. Please contact Baroody Camps at info@baroodycamps.com if you have questions or concerns. Flyers went out in the Thursday folder last week and we have extended the deadline through this Sunday, September 25th (paper forms must be handed in no later than Monday, September 26th). Paid Position: On-site Enrichment Coordinator
We are looking for an On-Site Enrichment Coordinator, who will oversee all enrichment activities at school every day. This will provide oversight and safety for our students as they participate in our enrichment programs. This is a paid position, On Site Coordinators will make $20/hr.
Below please find a description of what the On Site Coordinator is responsible for during after school enrichment. The On-Site Programs Coordinator (“Coordinator”) will serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the Enrichment Volunteer (“PTA”) and the Enrichment Programs.
- The Coordinator will be at Keene Mill Elementary School for the entirety of the After School
- Programs, which is generally 30 minutes prior to the start of programs and 30 minutes after programs have ended.
- The Coordinator will distribute and collect the following rosters:
- Rosters/Sign-in & out sheets
- Allergy lists
- The Coordinator will maintain a list of children participating in the after-school programs with medical issues, including severe allergies. This list will be shared with the Instructors.
- The Coordinator will help to ensure all the Instructors are at their classrooms on time. If an Instructor is late or will be out on that day the Coordinator will remain with the class until the Instructor arrives and/or finds a new Instructor for the day.
- The Coordinator will assist program staff with disruptive children and resolve any issues that may arise during the after school program.
- The Coordinator will assist with getting students to their classrooms if they are late, finding any students that do not report to their designated area, calling families to confirm student location, and will also assist with dismissing the children from the after–school club. If an Instructor needs to leave before all the children are dismissed then the Coordinator will remain with the students until all students have been picked up by their parents/caretaker.
- The Coordinator will communicate with the Baroody Camps School Ambassador, PTA, teachers, instructors and parents when necessary on all matters related to the operation of programs.

The KMES PTA is looking for a member to serve as Second Vice President for the 2022-23 school year. Responsibilities include serving as liaison for our enrichment classes (through Baroody Camps), overseeing PTA communications, working with the FCPS Reflections art program and Pyramid Challenge, and overseeing family night events at KMES. To sign up to be a member of the KMES PTA, visit the Keene Mill PT Board website and either select a Single Membership for $10 or Family Membership for $15. There is a very small transaction fee that will be added on to your total. If you prefer to pay with cash or check, print the Membership Form and return to the PTA or school office.

PTA Email Transition
You may have noticed a change to our email addresses. We are excited to announce that our email addresses are changing to the format title@keenemillpta.org. All incoming emails will work if they are sent to our old addresses for the foreseeable future; however, the old title@gmail.com addresses will eventually be phased out so it is important to update your contact information moving forward. PTA Reflections Program
The PTA Reflections Program is designed to enhance a quality art education by providing opportunities for students to explore their artistic talents and receive positive recognition for their efforts. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts. The 2022-2023 theme is Show Your Voice.
Families who wish to learn more about or participate in the 2022-2023 PTA Reflections Program should reach out to the Reflections Chair at reflections@keenemillpta.org.
