A Note from Dr. Goodloe
Rocky Run Families and Students,
What a great week at Rocky Run MS! It was our pleasure to welcome FCPS Superintendent, Dr. Michelle Reid, and School Board member, Stella Pekarsky visit earlier this week. Led by some of our student ambassadors, we toured the building and visited classrooms. We also talked about the implementation of middle school recess (which the students LOVE) and Away for the Day cell phone policy. I am so proud of how engaged our students are and how they shared their questions and ideas with Dr. Reid and Ms. Pekarsky.
This week we welcomed a new staff member, Ms. Liz Fetscher, to the Rocky Run family in our English Department. Ms. Fetscher will be teaching 8th grade English and she is so excited to begin her teachign career with our ramtastic students (pictured with Dr. Reid below).
Students turned out in great numbers for the After School Program this week. We had over 500 students attend different activities throughout the week. We encourage students to check Schoology for updated events and new clubs. Families can find After School information from Ms. Campbell below.
Don't forget that Monday, September 26 is a student holiday for the religious observance of Rosh Hashanah. Staff will be working and the main office will be open.
I welcome your feedback, questions, and ideas. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me at any time.
Together WE are RAM STRONG!
Thank you,
Amy Goodloe, Ed.D.

Rosh Hashanah
Monday, September 26, is a student holiday/professional work day for teachers. It is also Rosh Hashanah, the two-day celebration of the Jewish New Year. See the complete 2022-23 school year calendar.
Shanah tovah to our Jewish community celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year! Meaning “head of the year,” Rosh Hashanah is one of Judaism’s holiest days and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection that ends with Yom Kippur. #OurFCPS
