Message from Ms. Kearns

Dear Lake Braddock Families,

I am so proud of all the school spirit shown this week at #BruinNation!  We had two amazingly energetic pep rallies to get us ready and pumped for the big game against Annandale tonight, as well as an eventful Spirit Week!

Besides getting to experience the excitement of the large pep rallies, I was also able to get into a few classrooms on a slightly smaller scale with our students to engage in some of their lessons.  Our Teachers for Tomorrow class invited me to stop by to discuss my start in the world of education.   We are so lucky to offer such a valuable class to our students who strive to be future educators.

I also was fortunate to pop into the Athletic Leadership to discuss various school related topics including ways to improve our students’ experiences with the Hypesquad and Advisory.  Encouraging our students to analyze their current world in order to produce viable solutions leads to students who are ready to take on challenges and lead the way.

We hope you have an awesome Homecoming weekend!  We will see our students back here on Tuesday!

Go Bruins!

Lindsey Kearns

Rosh

Rosh Hashanah September 26-Student Holiday

Shanah tovah to our Jewish community celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year! Meaning “head of the year,” Rosh Hashanah is one of Judaism’s holiest days and marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection that ends with Yom Kippur.

Monday, Sept. 26, is a student holiday/professional work day for teachers. It is also Rosh Hashanah, the second day of the two-day celebration of the Jewish New Year.

Athletic Event Spectator Expectations

We appreciate all of our fans who attend high school sporting events. Before attending any games, we ask caregivers review the following, and discuss relevant information below with their children:

  • No backpacks or other bags are allowed in stadiums. (Students and adults)
  • No outside food or drinks. Concession stands are available.
  • We cheer FOR our teams and not against our opponents. All cheers should be positive.
  • All students should pre-arrange for transportation and plan to leave immediately after the game.
  • All elementary and middle school-aged children should be supervised by an adult.
  • Anyone who leaves must pay to re-enter.
  • Whistles and similar noisemakers are not allowed.
  • Anyone caught trying to enter the game without paying will be removed and can be banned from attending future games.

Our goal is to create a positive community event. Any behaviors that take away from this goal may result in being removed from the game and not being allowed to attend future games.
