Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology

7th and 8th grade families interested in learning about the admission process for Thomas Jefferson High School are invited to attend a presentation on Monday, October 3 at 6:30 pm at Robinson SS in Recital Hall.

Along with outlining the application process for families of current 8th grade students who may apply for their freshman year, the student’s STEM interest and high school programs at Thomas Jefferson will also be session topics. Current 8th grade students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA at the end of 7th grade and be currently enrolled in Algebra 1 Honors, Honors Science, and either English Honors and/or Civics Honors.  Middle School Students: Do you love to read? Do you love to compete? If so, you might love Robinson MS's new after-school club, Battle of the Books. IT’S HOMECOMING WEEK!

Dress up for our spirit days to join in on the fun. 7th and 8th grade are facing off in the “Battle of the Grades: Homecoming Edition” trying to earn points throughout the week for their grade, who will be crowned the “MOST SPIRITED?” You can earn points for your grade by dressing up for spirit days, competing in lunch challenges, participating in the scavenger hunt, answering trivia, and much more! Homecoming Dance(Middle School Only):

Robinson Middle School is hosting a Homecoming Dance Party on Thursday, September 22nd from 3:00 – 4:30pm in the Blue/Gold Cafeterias. Tickets are on sale now on MySchoolBucks for $15.00. Tickets include admission, food, drink, and access to all events at the party; DJ, dance floor, video games, ping pong, lawn games, arts/crafts, etc. Additionally tickets will be sold during lunches on BLUE DAYS, cash only. Late buses are available to take students home.

Tie-Dye T-Shirt Event:

Homecoming is coming up! September 19th – 22nd. There are daily spirit day dress up challenges. Do you need something to wear for Class Color Day? Middle School is silver (gray)! Come tie-dye with middle school SGA afterschool on Wednesday, September 21st. You MUST bring your own white shirt(s) to tie-dye grey. Wear the finished product to the Pep Rally on Friday! Meet in room A215 afterschool the day of the event, you must be signed up to attend. Spaces are limited. Access the sign up link below (Using FCPS login) or through Schoology. Hope to see you there!

Middle School Movie Night:

Hello students! SGA is hosting a movie night for Homecoming week on Monday, September 19th afterschool. We will be watching Toy Story 4 and making our own Forky!! SGA will provide all materials and snacks. Monday’s spirit day is Pajama Day, so we will all be comfy and cozy for a fun movie night together. Meet in Davala Hall after the dismissal bell. Middle School VGA Assessment Dates

All middle school students will take a Reading VGA and some middle school students will take a Math VGA. The middle school students will take the VGA assessments on the following dates:

This notification was sent home with the beginning of school letter. If parents have not submitted the retake form for Spring SOLs, they may use this online form instead of the paper form.

Social Worker Spotlight

Empowering Parents and Transforming Teens Learn how to build a positive relationship with your child and stop the arguing. Prevent or intervene in alcohol and drug use, disruptive behaviors at home and possible gang affiliation. Improve school attendance and academic performance. This is a: 10 Week Parent Project Training. Please share with any parents/caregivers who could benefit from this training. Dates: Tuesday, October 11, 2022- December 13, 2022 Class will meet every Tuesday for 10 weeks from 6:30-8:30pm Where: 1st and 10th Meeting will be held at the Cedar Lane School. (Address: 101 Cedar Ln, Vienna, VA 22180). Meetings 2-9 will be held virtually. REGISTER NOW! Please use the portal link below to register. There is a $30 Material Fee per family. Scholarships available as needed.
