LAES Weekly Wave: September 16

9.16

We are so proud of all the work our safety patrols are doing to keep our school community safe and thriving!

Principal's Message

Dear Lake Anne Family,

We've had another great week of learning at Lake Anne! This week students in our primary grades continued to dive into learning letter names and sounds with fun songs and routines. Our upper grades students are using technology to enhance their learning by exploring Lexia and the many other programs FCPS has to offer. As a reminder, if you have not signed the digital consent form, you can do so by following this link

We would like to thank the PTA and the Children's Science Center for hosting a wonderful Family Science Night! The students had a great time digging through fossils, coding robots, and learning about Space. We are looking forward to many more PTA events this year! You can learning more about how to join the PTA and events by following this link!

Finally, we continue to practice safety drills this week. Students participated in a bus evacuation drill and a lockdown drill. Student safety and security is our top priority. We are happy to report that students were able to follow directions quickly during these drills. Our teachers did an excellent job preparing students and following our safety protocols for these drills! If students have questions about the drill this document provides some Parent/Guardian tips to help you discuss the drill with your child.

Have a great weekend!

SR&R Signature Due September 30

FCPS’ updated Student Rights & Responsibility booklet is available online and in the ParentVue section of the Student Information System (SIS). The SR&R booklet explains expectations for student behavior, and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable, and supportive school environment.

Each year, we ask parents to review, sign, and return the SR&R to their child’s school. In ParentVue, you may now download and digitally sign the SR&R. Every parent/caregiver with a ParentVUE account will see the SR&R upon login to ParentVUE until the SR&R acknowledgement has been completed.

Your name in the digital signature box must match the parent/caregiver’s first and last name in SIS exactly before the signature will be accepted.

Please take a moment to log into ParentVue in your child’s SIS account to access the SR&R. Signatures are due by September 30.Visit the SIS Parentvue Account Overview page for help logging in to your account. Please contact us at 703-326-3506, if you are having difficulty accessing the booklet.
