Virtual Back To School Night (BTSN)
- As instruction is ramping up, a reminder that our virtual asynchronous BTSN becomes available this evening. All teachers will provide videos to introduce themselves and their courses. The videos will be housed on their schoology class pages that you have access to via your Parent Vue and Student Vue accounts. Here is some helpful information for accessing your accounts.
- The SIS ParentVUE Account is the FCPS secure solution for accessing information about your child's attendance, discipline, class performance, and demographic data. Your SIS ParentVUE Account login credentials are also used to access a link to Schoology, where you can see announcements and assignments for all of your student’s classes.
-
If you do not yet have a Parent Vue account, please use this link to request an account: https://itweb.fcps.edu/itsupport/parent/.
- Once you request an account, an activation code will be emailed to you and you will be able to access SIS and Schoology.

If you have a Parent Vue account please reference the information below:

Kiss and Ride Updates - with MAP
- We have been informed that our new Kiss n’ Ride and staff parking lot will be completed this weekend! This is great news. Starting Monday 9/19, we will have wide scale changes in the way that we drop off and pick up as well as park at West Potomac. A major part of the renovation plans involved creating new traffic patterns to help with congestion on campus as well as along Quander Road. I do want to reiterate before providing you information that, all students are assigned a school bus in Fairfax County. Therefore, if the Kiss n’ Ride is a challenge or a strain for you as a parent dropping off their child, you can allow your student to ride the bus.
- A map showing the new routes is now available here. The main thing to pay attention to is that there will now be THREE separate entrances and exits to our campus.
- The main entrance that includes the Gym, Entrance Door (1), and the bus loop, will now ONLY be a bus loop. The loop will close off to staff and any other car drivers every morning by 7:30 am and every afternoon by 2:30 pm. This is to allow for busses to drop off and pick up. The loop WILL be open to car traffic from 8:00 to 2:30 pm.
- The entrance near Springbank and the Senior parking lot will ONLY be accessible to staff and students with parking lanyards/hang tags on their mirrors. This access will be restricted starting at 7:30 am and 2:30 pm. Again, this is to allow for arrival and dismissal. This area WILL be open from 8:10 am to 2:30 pm.
- The new Kiss n’ Ride entrance will be at the far end of the school (old Academy entrance and Pully). All Kiss n Ride vehicles must enter here drive through the front parking lot around the side of the school to the back new staff parking lot area. Those vehicles will loop around the perimeter of the lot and drop off students at the back doors (multiple doors in this area will be accessible) where they can enter.
- To help with the transition we will have a soft opening of the new Kiss n Ride starting Friday afterschool. I encourage you, if you are a Kiss n Ride parent, to come by over the weekend and drive the new area so that you can get familiar with the pattern and signage. There will be limited access on Saturday morning due to striping of the front Academy lot. It may be best if you want to come on Saturday to come after 2pm.
- It is important that we follow these traffic patterns as the renovation was designed and contingent on these new patterns. I thank you in advance for your patience and support during this transition. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the main office and reach out to our security staff.
