Dear Woodburn Families,
Thank you for attending our Back to School Night. We hope that you were able to connect with your child's teacher and other families. We also hope you walked away feeling confident in the learning experiences your child will experience this year. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher if you missed the event. They can share a copy of the information that was presented.
If you haven't already, please sign up for a parent conference with your child's teacher. We value holding conferences early in the school year and appreciate you taking time to partner with us.
Don't forget, the PTA is hosting their second Clean Kitchen Night next Tuesday at Pupatella!

Attendance Matters
When Should My Child Stay Home?
Whether students miss school because of illness or any other reason, missing school leads to learning loss.
Help your student succeed by encouraging them to miss as few days as possible. However, do make sure your student stays home if they are sick. So when should your child stay home? Visit our site for helpful ideas regarding absences and how to work with your child and your school.

Clean Kitchen Night: Pupatella (Mosaic), All Day on September 20
We are looking forward to our next Clean Kitchen Night on Tuesday, September 20. 20% of sales will be donated to the Woodburn PTA when you use the code WOODBURN online or in-person at Pupatella Mosaic (2980 District Ave, Suite 140, Fairfax, VA 22031). Hope to see you there!

Thank you to everyone who joined our first Clean Kitchen Night out of the year. A combination of in-person and take-out orders resulted in ~$300 earnings for the PTA, which Silver Diner has generously DOUBLED this year for a total of $612. That’s enough to cover field trip buses for an entire grade level this year. Thank you, Silver Diner (Mosaic)!

We are looking for someone to learn how to: Coordinate with the movie night vendor, prepare and advertise ticket sales, define roles for event volunteers, and plan for concessions sales and other day-of logistics.

PTA Corner Editor: Do you like reading updates here each week? We are looking for someone to: consolidate newsletter content from Board members and Event leads; share weekly PTA Corner submission with Katy Richman on Tuesday evenings.
