Principals' Message
Hello Centreville Community,
It is hard to believe that we have already completed 10% of the 2022-23 school year! Time flies when you are having fun and learning! Speaking of fun, we have created a new Facebook Page. Unfortunately, the old page was compromised which required us to design a new one. Please search @CentrevilleES to follow us. Tomorrow morning is the CES Schoolwide Clean-up, we hope to see many of your there to help us beautify our school grounds.
We have had some inquiries about bullying and how it is handled at CES. To help develop a common understanding of Bullying, below is the FCPS definition. We have underlined some key terms which distinguish bullying from teasing, horseplay, arguments, and peer disagreements.
Bullying in Students Rights and Responsibilities is defined as: “Any aggressive and unwanted behavior that is intended to harm, intimidate, or humiliate the victim; involves a real or perceived power imbalance between the aggressor or aggressors and victim; and is repeated over time or causes severe emotional trauma. “Bullying” includes cyberbullying. “Bullying” does not include ordinary teasing, horseplay, argument, or peer conflict.”
For more information on how CES or any FCPS school handles a bullying situation please visit the FCPS Bullying Prevention and Intervention webpage. Our goal is to ensure all students feel safe and welcomed at CES. If you have questions and/or concerns about something that is going on at school, please contact us so that we can support you and most importantly your student.
