September is Attendance Awareness Month

The beginning of the school year is the best time to develop strong attendance habits! Students who attend school regularly are more likely to perform well in reading and math, develop strong social and emotional skills, and graduate from high school on time. Help prepare your child for future success. Visit FCPS’ Attendance web page for tips and strategies.

Hello, Robinson Families,

Every Monday during advisory, Robinson Students and Staff participate in Rams READ.

Rams READ is a time when the entire school stops to read choice material – books, magazines, newspapers, eBooks, etc. Choice reading is one of the most effective ways to improve students’ literacy skills! Please support RAMS READ time by encouraging your students to bring choice materials to school and participate during Rams Read.

Resources:

** If students are looking for a great read, they can browse this site for reading recommendations: https://robinsonss-fcps.libguides.com/finding-your-next-book

** Students may also access items digitally, by visiting the Rams Read choice board: https://robinsonss-fcps.libguides.com/finding-your-next-book/rams-read

PTSO Meeting - Wednesday, September 21st

PTSO

Social Work Corner

What do your school social workers do?

We provide support to children and families in the areas of mental health, accessing community resources, basic needs, and special education.  We partner with our school teams and counselors to ensure all students are achieving their full academic, social, and emotional potential.

Meet the High School Social Workers

Levy

I am Christyn Levy and this is my ninth year working as a the full-time school social worker at Robinson High School.  I attended the University of Tampa and received a Bachelor’s in Psychology and completed my Master’s Degree in Social Work at the University of Washington.  In 2019 I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia.  Prior to working in the schools, I worked with children and young adults in emergency shelter programs and short term residential programs for homeless and foster care teens and young adults, domestic violence programs, and other emergency service programs.  Our family relocated from Seattle to Northern Virginia in 2010 to be closer to family.  As a family we enjoy traveling, playing board games and being outside.  I look forward to being a resource to the Robinson community.

Swittenberg

I am De'Stanye Swittenberg and I am the new part-time social worker at Robinson High School. I attended George Mason University where I received a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Social Work. Prior to joining FCPS, I worked as an Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapist where I directly worked with children and adults with autism to practice skills and work toward their individual goals. I also worked as a Qualified Mental Health Professional where I provided collaborative mental health services for adults and children. In my free time, I like to spend time with family and friends and binge watch my favorite TV shows. I am excited for a great year at Robinson!
