Herndon Middle School will be having a TJ Information Night on Wednesday, September 21st at 6 PM, presented by a member of the TJ admissions department. They will be discussing eligibility requirements, the application/admissions process, and general information about attending TJ! Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) is the process through which all young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to develop healthy identities, manage emotions and achieve personal and collective goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions (CASEL, 2020).
SEL skills include self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. These skills are important for collaboration and perspective taking. They also help students manage their feelings, address challenges, and reach their goals. On Thursday, October 27, 2022 Herndon Middle School students will take the thirty minute SEL Screener during Advisory. Next week we will send a letter out via E-Notify with detailed information and an opt-out option.

Wrestling season starts November 2022 and runs through mid-March 2023 Practices at Herndon High School and South Lakes High School ; clinics with other organizations; compete with teams in VA, MD, WV and PA through the Mason Dixon Wrestling League.
