Dear Westbriar Families,
We will soon say good-bye to August and hello to September! As we are approaching the end of the second week of school, we are happy to share that the opening of school has been a relatively smooth experience. We know there were a few glitches with transportation, but FCPS transportation is resolving those as quickly as possible – thank you for your continued patience.
We enjoyed reconnecting with students and families at our in-person Open House where over 90% of our families attended. Recording links from our Back to School Night have been shared by your child's classroom teacher. If you still need it, please reach out to them. We are so glad to have your children back in school with us! Nothing can compare to the joy we experience in seeing their happy smiles and hearing their laughter throughout the school day.
As we enter September and have been in school for a couple weeks, we want to share a few important reminders:

Parking - As a school located in a neighborhood, we know parking is limited. Please remember to not park illegally that may cause traffic issues with arrival and dismissal. Please do not block driveways of nearby homes, we all share the same space, and we want to ensure we are respectful to our neighbors and their spaces. Please note that Fairfax County Police have been made aware of some of these issues and our neighbors have been informed of their rights to call the non-emergency number. If you are parked illegally or blocking a driveway, you may receive a warning or a parking ticket by police officers.

Virtual Wednesday Folder - Wednesday has been designated as our virtual “take home” day of fliers or information. On Wednesdays, the virtual folder will be emailed to the parent emails we have listed in our system. Be sure to look for our virtual Wednesday folder emails and ensure it is not going to junk mail. We include a lot of school and PTA related information and reminders. If you are not receiving our virtual Wednesday folder emails, please reach out to the main office and they can assist you.
