About our Keynote Speaker:

Anxious While Testing?!

Thinking is not like a light switch. Performance is not simply about skills and knowledge. In this talk with Ned Johnson, test prep geek at PrepMatters and co-author of Conquering the SATThe Self-Driven Child, and What Do You Say?, learn the neuroscience and psychology that explains why bright, academic students often stumble under the pressure of school and standardized tests. Most importantly, Ned will share how parents can help and what students can do before and during those high-stress moments.

September 9 - Celebrate McLean

celebrate mclean

Join us for a community celebration to kick off the new school year. Students will have unique opportunity to know at first hand all the different clubs active at school and join those that match their interests or passions. Parents are invited to join us on the practice football field for the celebration and will have the opportunity to meet their child's teachers in an open house format in the school building. The PTSA is sponsoring the Talk of the Talk entertainment and DJ, and prepared food trucks and fun for all age groups. Even more, PTSA representatives will be happy to share opinions and hear about ideas, initiatives, concerns and more. It is a wonderful summer day to share in community and chat. See you there!
