Recently, Ms. Natalie Hill, band teacher, had the pleasure of traveling with the Chantilly High School Band students to each of the 6 Chantilly Pyramid elementary schools to perform and assist with each assembly like the one we had here at Lees Corner last Friday morning.
It was awesome to see so many young faces excited about learning an instrument as part of their school band programs this year!

Friday, Sept, 2, and Monday, Sept. 5, are Labor Day holidays for all FCPS employees and students. Schools will be closed.

Lees Corner's Back to School Night for all students in grades K-6 will take place on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 6:30 – 8:00 PM.
This will be a virtual event.
You will receive an email from your child's teacher with information on joining the Back to School session(s) for your child/children.
Registration is required to access the virtual Back To School Night sessions via ZOOM.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the session.
Please register using the email address you use to login to your ParentVue account.
The meeting will not open until 6:30 PM on Thursday, September 8th.
IMPORTANT: Please also be sure that the device you plan to use has the Zoom application installed on it. See the Zoom Download Center or your device’s App Store to install Zoom.

Fun Run Fundraiser for Lees Corner
We are pleased to share that we are partnering with the non-profit, Asha-Jyothi, to support the14th Annual 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, September 18th at Fairfax Corner at 8:00 AM. If you'd like to learn more about Asha Jyothi, please visit their website.
ALL proceeds raised will go towards student fieldtrips; support for school-wide, hands on learning experiences to include STEAM; family and community engagement activities; and to support student and staff needs.
Asha-Jyothi has generously agreed to donate back 100% of the registration money back to each participating school AND:
- An additional $500 for 25+ registrations
- An additional $1000 for 50+ registrations
- An additional $2000 for 100+ registrations

Please complete the Parent Consent Form for Digital Resources soon so your child can begin using digital resources for learning at Lees Corner.
At Lees Corner ES our teachers will use a variety of digital resources to support student learning and promote communication and collaboration with students and families. Some of the digital resources your child may use this year will require your consent before they can be used. You can find our school’s list of the resources that require parental consent and a link to the form that we need all families to complete using the link in the first sentence of this message. The enrolling parent or guardian will need to indicate whether or not their student is allowed to use the list of digital resources this year.
This page also provides more information about how FCPS carefully reviews digital resources for approval and why we must request your consent before using certain tools. We encourage you to complete the parental consent for digital resources form as soon as possible but before your child’s first day of school, as your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your permission.

If you have questions or concerns about the digital resources that we’ve to use this year, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
Join LCES Band or Strings!
Students in 4th grade can choose to participate in Strings (violin, viola, cello, bass)!
Students in 5th -6th grade can choose to participate in Strings (violin, viola, cello, bass) OR Band (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, percussion). Students cannot do both due to scheduling, so please choose either Band or Strings.
To learn a little more about each program, please email the band or strings teachers with any questions you may have. They really look forward to working with your children this year!
