Principal Message

Happy First Friday Wolverines!

Wow, what an awesome first week!  Despite our challenges leading up to the first day of school, we had a wonderful start to our 22-23 school year.  Our staff and students have been excited to reconnect.  The first two weeks of school are about establishing relationships, routines and expectations, settling in, and reviewing/assessing current content knowledge and skills.  This time is essential for student’s long-term success in academics and supporting student wellness.

Virtual Back To School Night (BTSN)

Our virtual asynchronous BTSN will open on Thursday September 25th.  All teachers will provide videos to introduce themselves and their courses.  The videos will be housed on their schoology class pages that you have access to via your Parent Vue and Student Vue accounts.  Here is some helpful information for accessing your accounts.

Log in to Schoology here using your Parentvue login and password

Helpful videos:

How do I log in to Schoology?

What will I find in my account?

How do I see my child’s account?

If you run into any difficulties with this, please email Ms. Babic jmbabic@fcps.edu

Construction and Parking Updates

Work continues on our spring bank connector, cafeteria expansion, and kiss and ride.  There are two shifts of workers, day and evening, working to complete our project.  I do not have any solid completion dates but I am hopeful seeing progress daily.  As we are getting closer to completion of the kiss and ride, we will continue to distribute parking passes to those who have reservations.  Once that is complete we will move to the waitlist.  At this time, we are no longer able to take any additional requests for parking.  Also, we will provide you with maps for our new kiss and ride, bus, loop and student/staff parking routes prior to opening the new parking areas.  In the meantime, if you are visiting our campus during the school day, please only park in designated visitor parking available in the front of the school at the door 1 entrance.  Please do not park in the senior or junior parking lots.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Thank you,

Tanganyika H. Millard, Ed.D.

Principal, West Potomac H.S.

WABC Membership

Dear Wolverine Fans,

It is the very best time of the year! The 2022-2023 sports season has begun and the WABC is launching our annual Membership Drive. This year we are offering three different levels of Membership. Students, families, and fans can show their support by purchasing; a Family Pass ($175 for up to six family members including WP students), a Student Pass ($25), or an Individual Family Member Pass ($75).  All purchases are made via Paypal at https://www.supportwestpotomac.com/membership.html

Pass holders will receive free admission to all regular season home games. District, regional, and state tournaments will charge an entry fee. This pass provides HUGE savings over the course of the school year and is one of the best ways to show your Wolverine pride! Each pass holder will receive a personalized card and should remember to bring it to all events for admission. Cards will be available for pick up at the first home game for each team.
