Superintendent Connection Opportunities

Superintendent Connection Opportunities

Hello, Springfield District families,

As I mentioned in my August 15th newsletter, Superintendent Dr. Michelle Reid will be hosting Community Conversations across the school division this fall to get to know our communities. Events will be held at the high school in each pyramid through November.

The full list of events may be viewed on the FCPS website. Interpretation services, childcare, and light refreshments will be provided.

Below are some upcoming opportunities for pyramids attended by students living in the Springfield District.

Additionally, the Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) is having a Meet & Greet with Dr. Reid on Tuesday, August 30th at 7:00 p.m.

Please see the below details and registration information.

I hope you can join us at one of these events!

All my very best-

Laura Jane

SEPTA Meet & Greet With Dr. Reid

Dr. Reid being sworn in as Superintendent.

SEPTA invites the community to join them on Tuesday, 8/30, at 7 p.m. for a Meet & Greet with Dr. Reid at Gatehouse Café in the Gatehouse Administration Center. This hybrid in-person/virtual event is designed to give families who receive special education services an opportunity to meet Dr. Reid. Dr. Reid will speak along with Assistant. Superintendent of Special Services Dr. Boyd and FCPS' new Neurodiversity Specialist Kristen Haynor. Some families will also share their FCPS special education journeys with Dr. Reid. There will be a Q&A session as well - attendees both in-person and virtual will have an opportunity to submit questions to a Google form (or index card) while our guests speak. Check-in for in-person attendees will begin at 6:30 p.m. so that the event may begin at 7 p.m. SEPTA will also present its Proposed 2022-2023 Advocacy Priorities statement, for which SEPTA members will have an opportunity to vote at the SEPTA meeting on September 20th.

Please register (for both in-person and virtual) by clicking here.
