Mock SAT and ACT Tests

(September/October/November)

The McLean PTSA & EC Tutoring are partnering to offer the SAT and ACT practice tests. These tests are available to students at area schools for $20.

*** Please remember to identify yourself as an MHS student on the registration form to ensure that the PTSA receives credit; the fees support our programs.

Anxious While Testing?!

Thinking is not like a light switch. Performance is not simply about skills and knowledge. In this talk with Ned Johnson, test prep geek at PrepMatters and co-author of Conquering the SATThe Self-Driven Child, and What Do You Say?, learn the neuroscience and psychology that explains why bright, academic students often stumble under the pressure of school and standardized tests. Most importantly, Ned will share how parents can help and what students can do before and during those high-stress moments.

Fulfill Service Requirements

Students Mentoring Students

Help spread the word about the opportunity for students to earn service hours by becoming mentors for the HumScouts Program.

The Humanitas4All (HumScouts) - After School Program is an online program dedicated to helping elementary and middle school students stay on track with learning during the school term. The goal of this program is to provide homework help, fun activities, positive character development, and support to young students and their families.

The HumScout after-school sessions are offered to students in grades K to 7th grade and will take place after school via Google Meet. Students will be paired with mentors from Thomas Jefferson and Mclean High School.

Students can sign up here to volunteer at and they will be contacted with more specific information.
