There were celebrations across Fairfax County this morning as students greeted their classmates and teachers and administrators welcomed them back to the classroom. Students arrived at Fairfax County schools this morning, excited and ready to learn!

Dr. Michelle Reid high fives a young student arriving at Forestdale Elementary School in Springfield. She traveled across the county meeting students and families today on her own “first day” of school since becoming our superintendent.
At Forestdale, Erin Criss’ third-grade class is off to an energetic start.
Cheerleaders provided a festive atmosphere for morning news crews covering the first day of school at Lake Braddock Secondary School in Burke.
Woodson High School in Fairfax and Langley High School in McLean also hosted morning news crews, sharing their first-day excitement across the area.
