Welcome Back
We are looking forward to welcoming all of our students and families back for our Open House tomorrow, August 18th. Families should have received their class assignments for the upcoming school year yesterday. Our teachers are very excited to meet new students and reconnect with their students from prior years.
Please be sure to read the information below for details of the Open House, including the Kona Ice truck, as well as details for the first day of school and Back to School Night.

We are excited to see everyone at the Open House-Meet the Teacher event Thursday, August 18th. All visitors should enter through the front lobby (Door #1). Entry into the building will be staggered alphabetically by last name:
A-K 11:00 AM-12:00 PM
L-Z 12:45 PM-1:45 PM
Students are welcome to bring supplies to the classroom. If you ordered pre-packaged school supplies from the PTA, the supplies will be in your child's classroom. Teachers and staff will be ready to welcome you and provide directions to the classroom and answer your questions.
The clinic will be open to receive any medications you need to give to our school health aide, Mrs. Gisele Mallis. You may walk around the school and see other classrooms, the lunchroom and specialists’ areas.
Our PTA will have a table with information regarding membership and plenty of friendly faces to answer any questions you may have.
Students are invited to participate in a scavenger hunt to win a fun prize. Scavenger hunt forms will be distributed in the front lobby.
A Kona Ice truck will be located on the blacktop near the playground for students and families who would like to purchase one.
We hope to see you all tomorrow to help us kick off a great 2022-23 school year.
First Day of School - Monday, August 22
The school hours are 8:35 a.m. - 3:20 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please note the arrival and dismissal schedule below. We ask that families say their goodbyes to students before they enter the building. Staff members will stationed throughout the building to help the students get to their classrooms.

Student Arrival:
- 8:25 a.m.: students are allowed into the school to go to their classrooms.
- 8:35 a.m.: students should be seated in their classrooms, ready to begin the school day; students arriving after 8:35 a.m. should report to the front office and will be marked tardy.

Student Dismissal:
- 3:20 p.m.: All students will be dismissed.

Virtual Back to School Night August 24
Our Back to Schoool Night will take place virtually on Wednesday, August 24th. Presentations will take place at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 pm. for all grade levels. Parents can choose either time based on convenience. The presentations will be identical in content.
A link to the meetings will be sent out to all families the afternoon of August 24th via the FCPS eNotify system.
